For the last four years, Betsy has expanded her practice into the cannabis space providing intellectual property and branding advice to clients, as well as basic small business needs.
Prior to founding Miller Farr LLP in 2017, Betsy worked as a solo practitioner for several years. She also worked at Google for two years in the eDiscovery department providing expertise about patents. Betsy has extensive experience as intellectual property attorney with an emphasis in US and international patent and trademark prosecution, as well as copyright counseling and registration. She has been registered to practice patent law before the United States Patent and Trademark Office since 2002. Her technical areas of expertise include cannabis, chemical, pharmaceutical, and plant patents.
Betsy is a graduate of University of San Francisco School of Law and the College of William and Mary, where she earned Master and Bachelor degrees in Chemistry, minoring in Biochemistry graduating cum laude. She is a member of the California Bar and US Patent Office Bar.
